ok...first of all, it's 11:15...and i can't wait to go to sleep.
second of all, (that goes out to ryan, for always making fun of the johnson's for never having a "second of all" after our "first of all") it's always really cool when you go out in public and see the really cute guy that sat next to you in high school 6 years ago...and you look the same. that's always really cool.
third of all, (and this is just to make me look smart like pearce and ryan always do)...a quote from a book i am reading. i hear your gasps now. "kim??? reading a book???" believe the rumors folks. it's true.
so, the lady this biography is about, had these three mottos about money...i was seriously convicted upon reading them...and thus, i share.
"1. Is the work for which we want the money God's chosen work for us, or our chosen work for Him? If the former, will not He see after the money necessary?? If the latter, then how can we expect anything better than we have?
2. Can we expect a blessing to follow money given grudgingly?
3. Should we not see that our Root is right, before expecting flowers and fruit?"
ouch.
Later on, her mentor told her about the three inscriptions over the doors of the Milan Cathedral. One has a carving of roses and says "All that pleases is but for a moment." Another has a carving of a cross and says "All that grieves is but for a moment." The central door has only these words. "Nothing is important but that which is eternal."
How much more powerful would my life be if I viewed everything in this way as well??
That's all my insight for tonight. I am off to hit the sheets. Hard.
